Permit to launch/land RPA

From AUD $187.00
  • Duration: 1 Days (approx.)
  • Product code: RPA

Please read the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA)/Drone Use Guidelines before submitting a permit application.

A permit is required to land and/or launch all categories of RPA, including very small sub-2kg RPA.

If drone/RPA use is associated with commercial filming activities, the permit can be sought as part of the Commercial Filming Approval application form.

The use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) / drones in Wellington Park must be balanced with the Trust's responsibility to protect and conserve the natural and cultural values of the Park, and ensure the safety of Park visitors. The Trust will consider issuing permits for the use of RPA in the Park for commercial, research, management and recreational purposes in accordance with
Drone/RPA Use Guidelines.

RPA pilots must have a current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and commercial operators must also have a RPA Operator's Certificate (ReOC). RPA/drone use will not be permitted without an appropriately qualified operator.

Applications must be submitted no later than 14 business days prior to proposed RPA/drone use. A non-refundable Application fee of $187 applies. Where RPA/drone use is associated with a separate Commercial Filming Application, this Application fee will be waived.

Evidence of Public Liability insurance with cover of at least $10 million is required before a permit will be issued. This can be submitted via email to info@wellingtonpark.org.au.
